Like a Box of Chocolates...

In a world where trying to get a job is so competitive everyone, including myself feel its neccessary to have a resume packed full of experience. When you graduate you know that most of you will have the same level of experience so it's the extra things that put you just slightly above others that is going to land you that job.

When I graduate a year from now I want to be the person who secures a job. I want to be a person who gets a job in at least half a year of graduating. So the question is do I spend the summer working my butt off doing two internships? Double jobs, double the experience and knowledge? Or...do I focus on one internship, give it my all and spend my days off enjoying my summer?

If you know me, you know that I am not one to be relaxed. My mind is always constantly jumping ahead and worrying about the future, school. Part of me want to let myself relax and enjoy my last summer before heading into "the work force" because everyone always tells me you have your whole life to work, enjoy yourself now. As of now I feel like I probably will take there advice, relax and have fun. But still in the back of my head I equate relaxing to laziness.

This is something that's been on my mind lately and I just felt the need to type it out.

What worries me the most is that I like to have control over things, but it when it comes to the futures that's simply impossible. You never know what will happen or where your going to be, there are just too many factors to account for. So all you can do is try to make all the right choices and all the right decisions and work hard and hope that things will work out right.

Like....its like a box of chocolates...you never know what your going to get.

Love I don't those things,
I don't need no ring
I don't need anything....

Roommate: (interrupted mid song) SHOOT I need those things...
Me: BAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (while clapping for emphasis)
Roommate: I NEED a ring
Me: BHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHA (next 5 minutes)

Dear Roommmate,

I am soo glad I live with you. So many good time, good laughs and late nights chatting away.
Happy Valentine's Day. You will get your ring soon enough, I'm sure of it ;)

DROP the TUDE

HOW you say something can say almost as much as the words that are spoken.
HOW you say something can completely change the meaning of an otherwise neutral sentence.

Take for example....
A: Can I use your pen?
B1: Sure!
B2: Sure...
B3: Sure.

The first gives the impression that you don't mind at all and are glad to lend someone a pen. B2 gives the impression that you don't really want to let them use the pen, but are being polite. B3 is short, giving the impression of an equally short attitude. It gives the implication that this person is mad at you for some reason and you have no idea why.

You see...so just remember THE WAY YOU SAYING SOMETHING, how fast, short, long and the intonation that it is delivered with says A LOT. Be aware of that and make sure how you say things are giving off the impression that you mean to....

Remember there are always AT LEAST 2 ways to say something if not more. Know how you want to be perceived by others and how you want them to interpret your speech and SPEAK ACCORDINGLY. Because you never know someone might just think your the most selfless person in the world when all you really want to do is kill them OR someone might just think your some mean butt witch when really inside you had the best of intentions.
